Veterans often feel most comfortable speaking with someone who understands military culture and the experiences that come with serving our country.
Our veteran volunteers offer a special connection built on shared service. They spend time with veteran patients, listen to their stories, provide companionship, and create a safe space for reflection, conversation, and remembrance.
Whether they are exchanging stories, discussing military experiences, or simply sitting together, these visits can provide comfort and a meaningful sense of connection.
Through our Treasured Veterans program, we provide recognition and peer connection that honors the veteran's service in concrete, personal ways.
Our veteran volunteers lead personalized pinning ceremonies to honor each veteran’s military service with recognition, gratitude, and shared memories. Ceremonies may include a commemorative pin and certificate and can take place wherever the veteran receives care.
Veterans in our care receive a red, white, and blue blanket hand-crafted by community volunteers, a tangible expression of gratitude from neighbors who wanted to give something back.
In military life, a challenge coin is a token of belonging, carried as quiet proof that your service mattered to the people around you. We continue that tradition. Veterans in our care are presented with a commemorative challenge coin honoring their service.
Each veteran is presented with an American flag displayed in a wooden frame as a lasting tribute to their service and sacrifice. This meaningful keepsake can be proudly displayed and treasured by the veteran and their family for years to come.
We match veteran patients with volunteers who share a military background. These visits offer a space to reminisce, swap stories, and simply be with someone who understands without explanation.
We host and participate in Veteran Cafes and community gatherings across the Treasure Coast, including events at the Ardie R. Copas State Veterans Nursing Home in Tradition.

Veteran hospice care follows the same eligibility criteria as standard hospice: a serious illness no longer responding to curative treatment and a physician's estimate of six months or less. If you are unsure whether your loved one qualifies, our team can help. VA benefits cover hospice care for eligible enrolled veterans with no out-of-pocket cost. Medicare and most private insurance plans are also accepted.
